MUSIC

Thani has been writing music for as long as they can remember and is currently working on their first album!  They draw inspiration from the work of Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Anaïs Mitchell, and other pop and folk artists.

Thani began composing for musical theatre while studying at the University of Michigan and graduated with a Minor in Musical Theatre Composition under the guidance of Prof. Lynne Shankel.  They hope to use their unique voice as a queer, trans, biracial writer, to create space in musical theatre for intersectional identities and underrepresented stories.

THE LAUGH OF THE MEDUSA

THE LAUGH OF THE MEDUSA is a musical exploration of the themes of gender-based violence in mythology, art, and our world today inspired by the 1975 feminist essay of the same name by Hélène Cixous.  It is a meditation on self-creation.  It is an exercise in trans-ing the canon.
